Greetings, Reds and Blues! It’s another Wednesday, and… well, not just another Wednesday. I’d written up a really clever blurb, and then this morning happened.
Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel have parted ways. Details are thin, but it sounds like there was conflict over transfers and the results recently have certainly been concerning. I’m (AG) not sure all that warranted his sacking, but here we are. The performances had definitely been sub-par, even in victory. Evan and I will certainly be discussing this and the rumored replacements.
Manchester United start their own European adventure in earnest on Thursday against Real Sociedad, but they’ll be feeling buoyant and ready after they weathered multiple storms from Arsenal to run out 3-1 winners at Old Trafford. Gooners will feel aggrieved by a (correct) VAR decision that chalked off a goal, but they’ll be more concerned about the naivete that cost them at least 2 points. Reds fans won’t care, as they saw the Theater of Dreams make another come true for new signing Antony with a goal on his debut. They may have been helped with the VAR call, but they made their own luck with 3 quality goals and great squad play to create them. If he can manage their new Thursday-Sunday cadence, Erik the Red may finally be the man to lead United back to their historical place in the game.
We’ll be embellishing minimal contact to make sure we get the calls we want. So join us this evening at 7:00 live at Chatham Tap Fishers and on Facebook Live, or catch us at your leisure on our other platforms listed below. Please like, subscribe, and comment wherever you choose to find us. CHEERS!
