Andrei Chikatilo, also known as the Red Ripper, was a notorious serial killer in Russia. This episode covers his crimes and the investigation that led to his capture. Chikatilo was released from custody in 1984 and went on to commit more murders. The police struggled to connect the killings to him until they brought in a psychiatrist to profile the killer. Chikatilo was eventually arrested in 1990 and confessed to the murders. He was sentenced to death and executed in 1994.
