Today is January 7, 2017. Travel back with me to this day in 2005. Today we’re hanging out in the office of Red Sox owner John Henry, where he will make a phone call to former Red Sox first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz and request that Mientkiewicz return a baseball with a whole lot of sentimental value, which now happens to be sitting in a safe-deposit box in Florida.
