The Relational Aspect
Prayer is fundamentally about building a relationship with God. Just as a child approaches a parent, we bring our requests to God, even though He already knows what we need. We acknowledge that we don't deserve His love, yet we are grateful for His forgiveness. We understand that God's grace is freely given; it cannot be earned or qualified for.
We can approach God with confidence, not because of our own worthiness, but because of His character. Correct prayer involves both following the pattern that Jesus provided and coming to God with the right attitude—one of gratitude, humility, faith, and a recognition of His sovereignty, along with His unfathomable love and grace toward us, who are undeserving.
