This novel was AMAZING!!

War photographer Jo not only tells but shows how repercussions can have a lasting effect, not only on ourselves but also for others.

Catherine Hall's writing is so elegant that the reader can feel the emotional toll a war places on a person. This novel is filled with loss and love and Jo tries to move past all of the guilt she feels from the decisions she has made over the years.

I so enjoyed how Jo would tell her story in one chapter and then share the reading of her great-grandmother Elizabeth's diary in the next chapter!!

Both women will leave the reader with a sweet, dark experience!

I truly look forward to reading more novels from Ms. Hall.
