Today Mike speaks with Adam Davis, an author, keynote speaker, former Police Officer, and the founder of the "Live Unconquered Foundation". We speak about Adam's childhood, motivations for entering the law enforcement field, his time in uniform, and reasons for leaving the profession.
We then discuss his entrance into the mental health side of things which prompted his writing of his first book which catapulted him into different public arena's all designed to spread the message about the traumas that are experienced by first responder's and healthy ways of processing these events. Adam has co-authored many books and we delve into these various subject matters that affect us all as first responder's in an effort to help others avoid the pitfalls that are experienced by so many.
On this week's episode, Mike speaks with Tommy Bolin, a 30 yr Firefighter/Paramedic and mental health advocate. He's the author of "Unseen Battles: The Price of City in a Life of Trauma and Sacrifice", sharing his own struggles with a depression and PTSD to help break the stigma and support 1st responders and their families. He leads First Responder Support, LLC, speaking and writing to inspire open conversations about healing and resilience in public service.
