Her work spans groundwater management, the Colorado River Basin, transboundary aquifers, and water policy, with a particular focus on bringing different perspectives together to find practical solutions. 

Sharon holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and has been recognized internationally for her contributions to water research and education. She also serves in leadership roles with organizations including the Colorado River Basin Water & Tribes Initiative and the Women in Water Diplomacy Network.
