In the inaugural episode of season 4, Alex Keledjian, the creator of HBO's hit filmmaking reality series Project Greenlight, and his new co-host and fellow film nerd Sam Levine talk about the return of the "popcorn flick" as they break down the two big blockbuster movies of the summer: James Gunn's "Superman" and Marvel Studios' "The Fantastic Four: First Steps."
From the need to escape the horrors of the modern world, to the purpose of films in the first place, Alex and Sam discuss it all. They touch on both films unique aesthetics, how the studio system is approaching big budget movies going forward, and whether or not we will see more brightly colored cinema that's meant to inspire hope.
