Many Christians do many things for the anointing except the one MOST important thing; reverence. Your praying and fasting, giving, reading the bible, etc, are all good and may help to activate the anointing, but without reverence, all these acts will be "gymnastics" before God. God will never anoint a vessel that dishonours him. The anointing can only rest upon people with the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord in them, as it is the bedrock for the anointing.
