We recently heard a message about having a fear of the Lord that generated a respect and honor for God that resulted in the obtaining of wisdom due to that respect of the Lord. Today we will look at the reverent fear of the Lord a different way, as the need to be aware of the fact that the fear of God has very much to do with the fear of Judgment of God and eternal death. This is if you understand it clearly an eternal separation of God. As we looked at the fear of God before this fear should cause you to see the need to live in reverence and obedience to the Lord our God. What we need to come to completely understand is that the fear and reverence of God is about recognizing this fear as offering very strong motivation to completely surrender to The God who created us and who created the universe. Some think they are there but are missing the mark and I am here to tell you that it is my responsibility to help you see your shortcoming according to scripture. You need to be certain by examining your motivations that they are in line with the word of God and not the word of self-satisfaction. Because the God I serve is a God of consuming fire who will strike down those who rise up against His will- This will not be the church of Thyatira which we looked at a few week ago. If you remember the tolerant Church. It was a church which allowed out spoken people to go unchecked in there way living and thinking. Thus they change the Church to something that was offensive unto God. Listen to gossip and spread rumors and lies that will cause harm to the church and people to leave and those who play party to it will pay by the hand of God.
