March 8th, with Svetlana Alpers, Laurie Fendrich, David Salle
Who can keep up with David Salle? That he is a painter at the top of his form was evidenced by his solo show in New York last spring. But he is also wearing hats as a curator and critic these days. “Nice Weather,” a group show divided between the uptown and Chelsea premises of his dealers, Skarsdedt Gallery, brings together mostly new work by a generous spread of modern masters and emerging or under the radar mid-career and younger painters. His essay review of Moma’s Forever Now show in ArtNews added sharp focus to debates about that much discussed event. Now he makes his debut on The Review Panel March 8 at Brooklyn Public Library where he joins veteran panelist Svetlana Alpers and fellow first timer Laurie Fendrich as moderator David Cohen’s guests. The Review Panel decamped to Brooklyn after a decade in Manhattan last month. David Salle, ahead of the curve, moved to the borough 15 years ago.
