THE RIGHT WORDS – Ep. 2 Medical Research
The first virtual and cross-border library against gender stereotypes and discrimination has been set up between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia: 18 multilingual podcasts, recorded in English, Italian and Slovenian, to describe, through as many key words, the world of women and the obstacles they have to overcome. An investigation that starts from language, but is then also reflected in the actions and behaviours of daily life, which see women often struggling with discrimination, especially related to their working and social life. This is one of the results of the project, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme The Right
Words: language education against gender discriminations (The Right Words: language education against gender discriminations), and which for 18 months saw CISL Fvg, as project leader, the Department of Legal, Language, Interpretation and Translation Sciences of the University of Trieste, the School of Advanced Social Studies of Nova Gorica (FUDS), and the associations Diritti a Prescindere of Udine and Listina Raznolikosti Slovenija of Ljubljana working side by side.
Ep.2 - MEDICAL RESEARCH
The shared definition of medical research emphasises the time gap between medical research findings and their application, the importance of recognising and including women and advancing gender medicine and pharmacology. The word is important to understand the perception of diseases and address the specific challenges of women's health. Gender equality is crucial in medical research to address the specific needs of women by recognising biological differences and adapting medical research and treatments accordingly and ensuring equal access to effective treatments for both sexes.
La definizione condivisa di ricerca medica sottolinea il divario temporale tra i risultati della ricerca medica e la loro applicazione, l’importanza di riconoscere e includere le donne e di far progredire la medicina di genere e la farmacologia. La parola è importante per comprendere la percezione delle malattie e affrontare le sfide specifiche della salute delle donne. L'uguaglianza di genere è fondamentale nella ricerca medica per rispondere alle esigenze specifiche delle donne riconoscere le differenze biologiche e nell'adattare di conseguenza la ricerca e i trattamenti medici e garantire un accesso paritario a trattamenti efficaci per entrambi i sessi.
Skupna opredelitev medicinskih raziskav poudarja časovni razkorak med ugotovitvami medicinskih raziskav in njihovo uporabo, pomen priznavanja in vključevanja žensk ter napredka v medicini in farmakologiji na podlagi spola. Beseda je pomembna za razumevanje dojemanja bolezni in obravnavo posebnih izzivov zdravja žensk. Enakost spolov je v medicinskih raziskavah ključnega pomena za obravnavanje posebnih potreb žensk s priznavanjem bioloških razlik in ustrezno prilagoditvijo medicinskih raziskav in zdravljenja ter zagotavljanjem enakega dostopa do učinkovitega zdravljenja za oba spola.
