"The famed foreign correspondent and historian William L. Shirer, who had watched and reported on the Nazis since 1925, spent five and a half years sifting through this massive documentation. The result is a monumental study that has been widely acclaimed as the definitive record of one of the most frightening chapters in the history of mankind." -Amazon
Dave here, I enjoyed reading this book about the Third Reich. It is a good read and interesting take on how Hitler rose to power and how they stayed there. William Shirer, did have first hand experience but then at a point he left and he had a view from a distant for a while. It is a must read if you are wanting to learn more about World War 2.
