Listen Later

In this episode of The Rising Lioness Podcast on All About Animals Radio, host Erica Salvemini, chats with Susan Magidson, expert and leader in the world of pets-as-pigs. She is also the Co-Founder and President of the Pig Placement Network (PPN). Since 1998 PPN has been an adoption service, consultant, educator, support to the rescue community, and much more, all for the rehoming of domesticated pigs.

Susan is a pet-pig-breeder turned rescue advocate. She says, “the rescue world is overwhelmed with unwanted companion pigs. Sanctuaries and Rescues get numerous calls from caretakers wanting to surrender their pig. They are at their capacity, they can't take in more without putting their organization into jeopardy. PPN assists the rescue world with our Home to Home placements..”

Susan and her network strive to unite potbellied pigs in need of love and sanctuary with their just right humans. PPN does this in order to improve and enrich the lives of pigs and their happy companion humans.

Listen in to this fun and educational discussion where Susan shares what pigs are really like! Find out if sharing your life with a smart, loveable, sometimes stubborn but also therapeutic pig may be right for you. In this episode you’ll learn about pig intelligence, behavior, language and how to avoid adoption pitfalls.

PPN is a National Pet Pig Rehoming Network with over 800 pigs-in-need posted on their website. PPN works with the overwhelmed rescue community, caretakers needing to rehome companion pigs, and prospective new homes interested in adopting a pig. All PPN services are provided without cost to the user. PPN is a non-profit organization that is dedicated and devoted to potbellied pigs.
