The river was where Moses' mother placed him in hopes that he would be saved. The river took him from hopelessness and despair to where everything became possible. 
There is a river of life, the river of God which can take you from the place of lack to the place of abundance. 
Seek Him first and foremost, He will lead you if you are willing to follow.
