Missed Episode 3 of The River Worship’s Season 13?

Pastor Ryan preached “Peace in His Pace,” reminding us that God doesn’t just care about where we’re going, but how we get there. David was anointed king, but before the crown came the field, the delivery run, and a lot of waiting. Yet none of it was wasted. The pasture wasn’t a detour—it was preparation. God often uses the mundane to shape us for the miraculous, and when we move at His pace instead of our own, we find peace, purpose, and power right where we are.

Scripture Focus:

In Psalm 27, David reminds his soul to wait with courage. But long before the palace, God’s plan unfolded through a simple invitation—to Jesse’s house, where David was anointed in 1 Samuel 16:3. The promise was real, but the process was long. These two verses frame the tension we often live in: we’re called, but not yet crowned; anointed, but still tending sheep. The peace isn’t found in the pace we want—but in the pace God sets.

• Psalm 27:14: “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

• 1 Samuel 16:3: “Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.”

Key Points:

1. Anointing doesn’t skip the waiting: David was anointed to be king—but before the throne came the sheep, the Uber Eats delivery, and a whole lot of obedience. You may be anointed, but the pasture still has purpose.

1. The wait prepares you for the weight: David didn’t kill Goliath with a sword. He used a sling—something he mastered during his waiting season. What you learn while waiting will equip you for what’s ahead.

1. There is peace in His pace, chaos in ours: God’s pace comes with His presence, provision, and power. But when we mute His pace and follow our own tempo, things quickly fall out of sync. Let Him set the rhythm.

Live It Out:

If you’re in a season of waiting, wondering, or wandering, you’re not alone. The question is: can you keep saying “yes” to God even when the assignment doesn’t match the anointing? Here are a few ways to walk this out intentionally this week:

• Obey before you understand: Even if it feels small, stay faithful in the field you’re in. God sees it, and He’s using it.

• Let go of your timeline: God’s speed is better than your speed. Trust His process—it always leads to peace.

• Keep the click in your ear: Like a band follows the click track, we must follow God’s pace. Don’t mute Him.

In This Sermon, Pastor Ryan explores the journey of spiritual maturity, moving from a self-centered approach of asking God for what we want, to understanding what we truly need, and ultimately realizing that our deepest need is for Jesus Himself.

He emphasizes God's wisdom in answering prayers with "yes," "no," or "not yet," highlighting that God's perspective is higher than ours and that He gives us what we need rather than always what we want. The message encourages believers to trust in God's timing and decisions, even when they don't align with our immediate desires.

But Pastor Ryan reminded us that even in the face of darkness, Jesus is not just an answer, He is THE Answer.

Matthew 16:13–19: “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

1️⃣ The World Is Full of Questions: After a week filled with tragic news and global turmoil, many are asking: Why? How did we get here? But there’s only one answer that brings real peace: Jesus Christ.

2️⃣ Opinions Don’t Save — Jesus Does:We’re bold with our opinions, politics, and posts. But it’s time we were just as bold about the Gospel. The most loving thing we can do is tell someone about Jesus.

3️⃣ You Carry the Answer: The world is drowning in confusion, and you have the lifeboat. We are called to go, speak, and shine. Jesus is the Answer to every question mark, and it’s time to trade the “?” for an exclamation!

Live It Out:

This week, let’s live with clarity and courage. Ask yourself: When was the last time I told someone about Jesus?

🤲 Ask yourself honestly: Who do you say Jesus is? Not just in your heart, but in your actions, speech, and courage?

🎙️ Tell someone this week that Jesus is the Answer. Invite them to The River or share your testimony. Start the conversation.

📖 Stop scrolling—start proclaiming. Your feed doesn’t need another opinion. It needs a declaration.

Ready to Say Yes to Jesus?

We live in a world full of question marks. From chaos to confusion, many of us are searching for real answers. This week, Pastor Ryan reminded us of something powerful: opinions can’t save anyone. Only Jesus can.

He is the only answer strong enough to heal what’s broken in your life and in the world. The most important question you’ll ever answer is the one Jesus still asks: “Who do you say I am?”
