Colossians 3:8–10, 12–14 calls believers to lay aside destructive patterns like anger, slander, and malice, and to put on the new self shaped by the character of Christ. As God’s chosen people, we are to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—bearing with one another and forgiving as the Lord forgave us. Above all, love must reign, for it binds everything together in perfect unity.
