This week on Beer & Bros., Lyle and I discuss the Republican National Convention (RNC), the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and their “presidential” candidates. I use quotation marks because, let’s face it, neither Trump nor Clinton is very presidential. As with most of our discussions, this one found its own path. Where did it lead us? Last week, the RNC was held in Cleveland, Ohio. For those who missed it, here’s a quick rundown of what was said: “Hillary is bad. She’s real bad. Our candidate is gonna fix everything and make America great again. “Insert Trump’s version of Michelle Obama speech here.” Hillary is bad.”

This week, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the DNC is doing pretty much the same song and dance. “Trump sucks. He’s a racist bigot who will destroy our country. Go Hill-dog!” Oh, and don’t forget, Bernie Sanders is urging his supporters to back Clinton’s bid for the oval office.

Interesting side-note, a number of emails were leaked recently that seem pretty damning for the DNC. It appears as though they were pulling for Clinton long before the primaries were over. They also were making racist jokes and plotting to have their people go to Trump rallies and start problems.

From here, Lyle and I began our discussion. He brought up some valid points regarding us having a female president that I’d not considered, and I’m willing to be at least a few of you haven’t thought of either.
