How does God protect his people in the face of betrayal?

Last sermon, we talked about how God handles evil, and in this sermon, the storyline continues in 1 Samuel. We see God at work to protect David as he experiences backstabbing and betrayal.

Here's what happened: While hiding out from King Saul, David rescues a nearby city from enemy invaders. But there’s no time to soak up the victory because the very people he liberated were plotting to sell him out to Saul.
