Focus: South Africa is facing an almost 300 000 housing backlog. One of the objectives of the partnership is also to assess social acceptance of 3D-printed houses.

The University of Johannesburg has done extensive research to evaluate the long-term policy implications of this technology within the South African sustainable human settlements context. It has also examined the cost-benefit analysis of adopting this

technology as an option to increase the speed of delivering houses.
