In this episode, she follows a cable to a room where her voice is being synthesized from scratch—a machine that builds her words syllable by syllable. She finds a control panel with a single red button labeled 'Origin.' The station begs her not to press it. She presses it anyway. The hum stops. Everything goes silent. And then a door opens to a room that smells like rain and iron. Inside, a figure sits with its back to her, writing in a notebook. When it turns, it has her face, but the eyes are wrong—they're the colour of the static.
