The Rough Draft - A Sometimes Gaming Podcast

October 5, 2026:

Of course I lost my audio. It wouldn't be a new episode if it didn't start off that way. Any way this is me redoing the whole episode from scratch. Apologies for the low volume.

This episode we go over:

Artificial Intelligence being used in Capcom's game engine and processes and my thoughts on its' impact. And then artificial intelligence being used in AI up scaling for PlayStation's new QSSR on the base PS5 console and how that bodes for their future development.

Then I enthusiastically gush over Jumanji, the 1995 movie starring Robin Williams.

And finally I hurriedly try to go over some of my experiences of Witcher 3 Remastered and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64).

On my first recording of this episode I got all of it under an hour but here I apparently went over time, go figure.

I just realized my episode titles are getting into Anime light novel territory of length so I need to start shortening them.

Anyway for this week's episode we have the following

Some quick news on Hideo Kojima's Physint and some spec leaks on the next gen consoles.

We then figure out who the culprit is in this whodunit movie Clue.

And finally we close the book on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition after 128 hours. And what a ride it has been, I will continue to sing its praises as one of my favorite games of all time.

Marvel's Wolverine by Insomniac Games reviews drop and they are definitely scores.

Kojima Productions split with PlayStation on Physint. Now Xbox has scooped them up for both that and OD.

Two Nintendo Directs because two PlayStation State of Plays, it's like the Sith with their rule of two. This is where I will briefly talk about Xenoblade 2 as well.

Then let's grab some popcorn for me to yap about James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water and what worked and what didn't for me.

Let's jump straight into the PlayStation State of Play that came out a few days ago and go over some of the announcements that were made there and the Japan one. Then talk and predict a little about the upcoming Nintendo Zelda and General Direct that will release within the next few days after this episode comes out.

Then we deep dive right into the lush jungles of Pandora as I go over James Cameron's Avatar (not the last airbender). It's an almost 20 year old move at this point but does it still have the same impact as it did when it first came out?

And finally, you know me, I'm not done with it yet so I'll continue to yap and ramble on just a smidge about Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition as I approach the 70 hour mark in Chapter 6.

Grand Theft Auto VI got its extended reveal. Xbox reveals more info about their disc to digital program. Gamescom had a lot of new game trailers. Elden Ring is released on Nintendo Switch 2. Stellar Blade gets a shiny new action trailer for Nintendo Switch 2. Witcher 3 remastered is revealed and is a free update for all owners of the game both physical and digital.

The movies!

James Cameron's True Lies and Titanic. Feels like they hit both ends of the spectrum of what kind of movies he makes so let's talk about it and explore the action comedy to the period romantic drama.

The games!

Just a little bit of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition this week. Unfortunately didn't get as far into the new chapter as I had hoped.

Yes this is episode 8. No it isn't called Memoriam. It is called Memento. And yes The Prestige came out after Batman Begins and Inception came out after The Dark Knight. Phew, now that that is out of the way I'll have a little ramble about Christopher Nolan's other movies: Insomnia and Following. Unfortunately no Memento this week because I thought I had it but I actually didn't. So it'll be for another time.

Then let's talk about the Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Nintendo Direct, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI to be shown on Netflix at the end of August, and a little tidbit talk on the Legend of Zelda movie.

I briefly talked about some Christopher Nolan movies last week so lets talk a bit more about some of them, mostly the Batman Trilogy and what I loved and didn't love about them. Next week we'll probably go over some more so stay tuned.
