ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WERE WAY MORE TV SHOWS THAN ANY SINGLE PERSON COULD WATCH AND SCRIPTS WERE BEING CHURNED OUT LEFT AND RIGHT AND NEW FACES TOO. BUT TV WASN’T ACTUALLY GETTING ANY BETTER, JUST BIGGER. THIS AFFECTED WRITERS. GONE ARE THE DAYS OF WRITERS WORKING IN GROUPS AND BRAINSTORMING PLOTS. YOUNGER WRITERS ARE SUFFERING THE MOST FROM MISSING OUT ON RUBBING ELBOWS WITH EXPERIENCED MENTORS. PLOTS ARE COMPLETELY UNRAVELING BEFORE OUR VERY EYES DUE TO THE PRESSURE TO CREATE CONTENT AS QUICKLY AND CHEAPLY AS POSSIBLE. AND ACTORS TOO AREN'T BEING PAID IN PROPORTION TO THE HOLLYWOOD EXECS. MUCH LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO MUSIC ARTISTS WHO’S MUSIC WAS ALL OFF A SUDDEN EASILY DOWNLOADABLE ON YOUTUBE AND APPLE, THE MONEY WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. IN AN EFFORT TO GENERATE FAIR WAGES FOR ACTORS AND WRITERS THERE IS NOW A HISTORIC STRIKE BEING LED BY NONE OTHER THAN THE ICONIC FRAN DRESCHER, AKA THE NANNY. 

THIS WEEK I'M DIVING INTO THE REASONS BEHIND THE HISTORIC SAG AFTRA AND WGA STRIKE AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE REST OF US. I'M TALKING ABOUT WHY THESE UNIONS ARE PROCEEDING THIS WAY, WHAT THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR AND WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS STRIVE TO BE SEEN AND HEARD ESPECIALLY IN YOUR OWN INDUSTRY.
