Compound interest is the primary mechanism by which we are going to be able to build wealth over the course of our financial lives. One way that we can measure how quickly compound interest is increasing the value of our assets is by using the Rule of 72. This approximation technique helps us determine how long it will take our money to double in value and how long it may take us to accumulate some multiple of our principal value.
