When the Russian invades Israel in a future context, Jesus Christ will beat them down, giving a supernatural deliverance to the nation of Israel.  It is in this context the nation of Israel looks upon Him whom that pierced and receives Him as Personal Savior.  It is around this time that God's wrath is poured out upon mankind, as God exercise His vengeance and fury.  This episode helps a person see these facts more clearly.
