Forgiveness of sin is the most important thing we can have. Nothing in life matters if the sin debt that we owe to God stands unresolved. But how can we repay a debt that is far too great for us to afford? How can we bridge a gap that is far too wide? It is simply because Jesus Christ has paid our sin debt for us on the cross. He bore our sins on His body on the cross and canceled the debt that was held over us. The gift of salvation is available to everyone who will turn to Him in faith and repentance. The sin debt that we owed God has been paid for by Christ. It is as though He said to His Father to put our debt on His account and He would repay it, thereby setting us free. This gift is available to everyone who will stop running from God and turn to Him instead.
