I've quoted it before and I'll quote it again, but it was the Scottish philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre who said, “I can only answer the question 'What am I to do? ' if I can answer the prior question 'Of what story or stories do I find myself a part?'” We can only navigate the ups and downs of life with resilient meaning if we understand what story we're a part of.
