Ed Goddard will be spotted running the hilly streets of the North Shore suburb of Mosman, Sydney with phone in hand and his long blonde locks blowing in the wind to the beat of Bob Dylan. Ed has been competing at a very high level since the end of high school and has represented Australia at the junior and senior level on the track and road. With a fantastic end to 2020 with a 62:16 half marathon in Launceston to a brilliant kickstart into 2021 with a 28:23 in January at the Zatopek meet in Melbourne, everything was heading on the correct trajectory, then injury struck! A 3cm fracture to Ed's calcaneus put a hold on the goal of running an Olympic qualifying time for the marathon at the Athletics Australia race in Penrith. Ed maintained his fitness on the bike and in the gym and surrounded himself with great health professionals to enable the return to running as fast and as safely as possible. Ed has a positive, fun and relaxed philosophical approach to his life as much as his running and is finding his feet again for an assault on the world marathon scene in the coming years. A fantastic chat with Ed that I know you will Enjoy!
