In this episode, I sit down with Lori Sepich to talk about what happens when denial finally catches up with you — and how facing hard truths can transform your life. After surviving two heart attacks and battling depression, Lori chose to stop hiding and start leading. Today, she’s a national advocate helping women take their health — and their responsibility to themselves — seriously. This is a conversation about courage, ownership, and the kind of leadership that starts from within.
Sometimes leadership doesn’t start in a boardroom.
Sometimes it starts in a hospital bed.
In this powerful episode of The Sandy Adams Show, I’m joined by Lori Sepich, a heart survivor turned national advocate, who shares how decades of denial nearly cost her life — and how facing the truth transformed her into a leader for women’s health.

Diagnosed with extreme hypertension at just 17 years old, Lori spent years avoiding her reality. That avoidance led to two major heart attacks, nine stents, and a battle with depression that forced her to confront far more than her physical health.
Everything changed after attending her first Go Red for Women luncheon, where she realized her story wasn’t just hers — it was one millions of women were living silently.
Today, Lori works with the American Heart Association, created the Heart Rocks campaign spreading messages of self-love in communities, and was selected as part of the 2026 National Go Red class of survivors.
• Living in denial and why it feels easier than change
• Recognizing heart attack symptoms — and still ignoring them
• The mental health impact of major health trauma
• Turning pain into purpose and advocacy
• Why women must take their heart health seriously
• How small acts of leadership can create massive impact

In this episode, we dive into the power of authenticity in personal branding.

Picture this: you’re in a room full of people, all trying to stand out, but everyone is putting on the same polished act. Now imagine someone walks in, comfortable in their skin, sharing their real story—the highs and lows. Who do you think people will gravitate toward? That’s the magic of authenticity. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being real. In a world obsessed with perfection, people crave connection, and authenticity is the key to unlocking it.
Building an authentic brand takes guts. It means showing up as you are, even when things aren’t going your way.
The late Steve Jobs once said,
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
This couldn’t be more true when it comes to branding. By embracing your true self and sharing your journey—flaws and all—you build trust with your audience, and that’s what leads to lasting success. Instead of focusing on perfection, focus on authenticity, because that’s what truly resonates and makes your brand unforgettable.

Oprah built her empire on the idea of authenticity. People instantly connected with her, or they didn’t.
Building a personal brand should be a strategy yes, but it should also be built with authenticity. We may not get everything perfect, yet it’s the imperfection that likewise speaks to authenticity.
In this episode, I dive into two ways you can show authenticity in your brand.

In this episode “3 Steps To Build Your Leadership,” I dive into what makes a true leader.
It’s interesting because while leadership is hard to define, you can easily spot it in some people. Real leaders don’t always seek attention; they carry a heavy responsibility because they feel it’s their calling. Leadership shows up in all walks of life, regardless of someone’s financial status or background.
I break down five key qualities that great leaders share and examples of real life leaders who exemplify each quality.
As always, I give a simple 3-step framework you can follow to start building your leadership skills. By following this framework, you’ll not only grow as a leader but also inspire those around you. Leadership is about personal growth and lifting others up, showing the true essence of what it means to lead today.
In this episode, I dive into the topic of building your leadership skills. PLUS I give you 3 ways you can take action right away to start building your leadership foundation.
