In Revelation 5:6, John sees Jesus as a lamb that had been slain, revealing that Christ still bears His crucifixion scars in heaven. When Jesus appeared to His disciples after resurrection, He showed them His wounds as proof of His identity and completed redemption. Thomas needed tangible evidence before believing, and Jesus graciously provided it through His scars. These eternal wounds serve as a permanent receipt that the price for sin has been fully paid. While Jesus carries His scars forever as proof of our redemption, we don't have to carry our wounds permanently. His permanent scars guarantee our eventual healing and eternal life with Him.
