Sometimes smells can be so important. They can immediately trigger happy nostalgic memories and also some sad and bitter/sweet ones too, such as people we have lost and times gone by. We immediately recall a poignant moment, where we were, who we were with and the feelings as well as the images, can come rushing back.

This poem is about some of the special scents and smells which linger in my brain from my life thus far.
