Apart from being the most perfect student in my class, I think I was also the best at our school. I had straight A's, perfect behavior, attendance and everything!

“You’re gonna get a scholarship to Harvard someday dear!” my dad always said.

And I believed him. I was going to do great things and change the world.

Although I was already in my final year of high school, I’d never had a boyfriend or even been on a date. I was just too preoccupied with school and being the absolute best at everything. But one day I decided to take a break from studying to watch a rom com and I started feeling all warm and tingly inside. Maybe one day I’d go out to a movie with a boy and he’d put his arm around my shoulder! Oh my gosh!

What made it strange was that a few days after these odd feelings, Dominic started looking at me with a twinkle in his eyes. Was I reading into it too much? I hope – because Dominic was super awful and if I had to pick a guy in my class it would be Stewart. He was almost as smart as I was and very kind and gentle.
