John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars is a 2001 science fiction action horror film written and directed by John Carpenter. The film stars Ice Cube, Natasha Henstridge, Jason Statham, Pam Grier, Clea DuVall, and Joanna Cassidy.

Set in the second half of the 22nd century, the story concerns a security team on Mars sent to pick up and transport a prisoner named Desolation Williams. Arriving at a remote mining town where he was being held, they find virtually all of the people missing and learn that an underground doorway created by an ancient Martian civilization was discovered. When it was opened, "ghosts" or disembodied spirits were released, which went on to possess the miners.
