He attended College at the University of California Davis, attended Medical School and residency at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed fellowship at the University of Kansas for Pulmonary Critical Care. Dr. Rutland is triple board certified in Int Med, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and is the owner of WestCoastLung within the Rutland Medical Group. He is the Vice President of the association of healthcare social media is the National spokesperson for the American Lung Association and is popularly known for his social media presence on Instagram and on youtube where he hosts the show Medicine Deconstructed. Dr. Rutland is an interstitial lung disease expert with a passion for lung disease, sneakers, and teaching.
