Our panellists consist of:
1. Dr Shameem Jaumdally (Senior Researcher at the UCT Lung Institute. Trained in Medical Virology/Immunology (PhD) and Epidemiology (MPH). Usually focusses on Tuberculosis research, now primarily focussing on COVID-19).
2. Dr Tasnim Suliman (Associate lecturer in virology at UWC.
Working in close collaboration with the Division of Medical Virology at Stellenbosch University where she previously held a post-doctoral fellowship. PHD on SARS coronavirus of the 2002 epidemic at the Institute of Virology in Bonn, Germany. Trained in the lab of the European expert in coronavirus research, Prof Christian Drosten).
3. Dr Salim Parker (GP in Elsies River. Served on South African expert committees on meningococcal and streptococcal vaccines and a board member of the Middle East/Eurasia/Africa (MENA) influenza network. Expert reviewer for international medical journals such as Vaccine and Journal of Travel Medicine).
