As Robert the Bruce wrestles the Scottish Kingdom back from the English,  it would be the north of England that would take the brunt of the long  conflict. This tale takes you to Yorkshire, where a small town,  preparing for the arrival of a rampant Scottish army relied on a  peculiar and untested method of  defence.
