This needs to be said. The Cat Lady Stereotype is outdated, overused, offensive and outright ridiculous. I believe this stereotype is rooted in misogyny. (I know the annoying woke movement has hijacked phrases such as these and made them into buzz words, but in my opinion, the concept of "The Cat Lady" genuinely merits the description, "rooted in misogyny.") A cat lady shouldn't be synonymous with a woman who "failed" at being a woman by not being what an ignorant and sexist society expects her to be. Cats are not the exclusive pets of undesirable and anti-social women. It's absurd that we need to remind, or even inform an entire world of ignoramuses (...ignorami?) that cats are the best friends of all kinds of humans, not just female outcasts.

This is a hairball, or rant. I talk about the horrible way cats are depicted in cartoons and other media and how this may influence the way certain people treat them. I feel very strongly about this topic and don't hold back.
