Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love being able to turn the A/C off, open up the windows and let the fresh air in. There is so much beauty and color in the fall. It is always easy to know when the fall season is coming. The daylight hours get shorter. The temperatures get cooler. The leaves begin to change colors and the geese began flying south for the winter. Just like the changing of the seasons the world is changing as the day of Jesus Christ return gets nearer. More than two thousand year ago Jesus promised us he was returning. 

Revelation 22:12 NIV Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 

Revelation 1:7 NIV “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. 

So what are some of the indicators that the season of Christ return is upon us? Matthew 24 verses 7 & 8 tells us that nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places and all these are the beginning of birth pains. According to Google there are currently 10 wars being fought in the world. As for famine it is estimated that as many as 828 million people go to bed hungry every night and do not know when or where their next meal will come from. As for plagues how can we overlook the Covid-19 pandemic. I am 56 years old and this is the first world wide pandemic I have ever known and it is not over yet. Another notable sign is the appearance of celestial events as prophesied in Revelation 6:12. According to Accu Weather in 2022 there was the Lyrid, Perseid and Geminid, meteor showers, a black moon, a total Lunar eclipse and 3 super moons. The planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn aligned in order in 2022 and on December 8, 2022 the Mars opposition will occur. This is when the planet is opposite of the sun from the perspective of the Earth. As a result, it is visible all night long and shines brighter than most stars in the sky. Finally, in the book of Matthew it was prophesied that when the nation of Israel is restored the Lord's day will be near. Israel was restored as a sovereign country on May 14, 1948. These 3 signs are just a few of the signs that the season of Jesus Christ's return is upon us. 

When the fall season is here I know that winter is almost upon me. There are steps I take around my home to make sure I am ready for winter. I make sure I have purchase enough propane to heat my home for the winter. I check the antifreeze in all my vehicles. I put fuel stabilizer in the tank of my, tractor, lawn mower and other engines and prepare them for storage. I put away all my garden hoses and I insulate the crawlspace under my house so the water pipes will not freeze. So how should we prepare, how should we live, knowing that Jesus Christ could return at any moment? First, live expectantly. The greatest event ever seen on planet earth is on the horizon, and you or your children could be alive to witness it! Knowing this should encourage you to share your faith and be as obedient as possible, so that your life will receive a “well done” from the Lord when you stand before him. Second, live faithfully. God has a call on your life, and he wants you to walk that out until the day you die or the day Jesus comes again. Finally, live hopefully. Many people around us have no hope or sense of where the future is leading. Let your witness and hope shine. Our hope is an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.
