Jane welcomes her friend and guest James Walsgrove to this episode to delve into starting a lifestyle business with the end in mind.

Having spent many years working for BT, James then set up Norfolk’s only Triathlon shop.  But getting frustrated with everyone coming in whilst on a bike ride he realised retail wasn’t for him.

Instead a career which enabled him to work where he wants so that he can ride his bike anywhere was the end point in mind.

Many years on and Ride Harder his coaching business has enabled him to do what he set out do.  The two recorded the episode whilst in Spain riding their bikes!

James gives some great insights into social media planning and targeting a key audience.  Discovering that middle age women are much easier to coach!

Jane is always on the move but recently, she started to feel… stuck.

Despite doing all the “right” things, she noticed she was slowing down, feeling flatter, and not quite as full of beans as she’d like to be.

Then, at a menopause event, she met Maria Marsh from NuMi — a specialist testing hub for people who already move their bodies and want real evidence that what they’re doing is actually working.

That meeting led Jane to book herself in for a full MOT at NuMi. And in this episode, she shares how that visit didn’t just give her answers it completely changed her life, and very much for the better.

Maria also joins us to share her brilliant insights into how we can all stay in great condition as we move through life. It turns out that kindness, self-compassion, and yes rest are absolutely fundamental.

And for Jane, someone who once saw rest as the enemy, it’s now been rebranded as something far more powerful: recovery.
