In which a spirited boy named Kotuko, guided by the mystical tornait, ventures across the treacherous Arctic ice with a silent northern girl to seek the elusive seals that sustain their village, navigating perilous storms and the eerie presence of otherworldly spirit-animals. Together they endure the harsh awakening of the ice, finding refuge and hope upon a hidden island where the first signs of spring and sustenance restore their courage to return home.
