But the phrase -void of understanding- which is applied to the vineyard owner actually means -void of heart.- Pastor Rohlin looks at the Hebrew words for understanding to describe what it means for a Dad to have an understanding heart. Then he keys in on the most important aspect of all. A family needs a Dad who has no affections that compete with his love for God. He shows from the vivid language of Proverbs 24 how a family disintegrates when Dad fails to be an understanding father.
