And while it is Biblical to look to the joy set before us (which points to future fulfillment of both the prophetic promise and eternal resurrection life in God’s presence), it is of a far better order to pursue a life in the state of hope. This opposes the more worldly method of setting mere hope goals. The state of hope reaps the full benefit of constant intimacy with and abiding in Christ and does not reject God’s constant interaction with us and transformation while we are on the journey.
