When it comes to lifting, the squat and the deadlift are some of the best Strength exercises. They're versatile and regularly used in sports programming and general training. You will commonly see strength athletes with extensive training squat and pull unbelievable numbers. For most people, the goal of lifting even half of these athletes' numbers is an ongoing journey. It's easy to look at these two exercises and think of simply pulling harder on the deadlift and doing more reps to get stronger on the squat as all you need to do. It's a shock to many lifters when they continue with the brute force approach and can't see their numbers moving or their form getting better. While doing more reps and learning to pull better does help improve your lifts, there are a few small tricks you can apply to improve your performance and make it easier to get towards that goal.
