Hmmmm...MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!
The hero sucks, plain and simple. He is mean to the heroine for no reason at the beginning. He could have let her down gently but nope, that is not how he did it. He threw up when he found out she was pregnant and compared their situation to that of his ex-wife's situation. They were completely different. The child with his ex-wife was not his own and yes, I understand he loved the little boy but to put that much of yourself away because he turned out not to be yours is ridiculous. This baby was his, and he was wanted to leave and have no contact but money with the child. I kept thinking, "get over it". The heroine was trying and trying to get him to accept the baby and I was happy she gave up, of course she waited until the end to do so. When the hero did come back to her, I did not feel the love when he said it and his proposal included the name of his ex-wife in it with the whole "I don't want us to be like that" speech. I am sorry but a proposal is supposed to be about love and devotion between the 2 main people, no one else should be mentioned, save the explanations for before hand not during. Let's not forget the part where she tells him that it will take a while for her to believe him, 2 minutes later in the same conversation is the "I love you too" and "Yes, I will marry you". She did all the work in this relationship and she still crumbled at the first sign he was willing to make their relationship work. He did nothing to help the entire time except to push her away. Urghhh...I just want to kick him and slightly her too. It is okay to read if you are bored and have nothing else to do. It is not the worst book I have read but I wouldn't waste the time to read this book unless you want to read all that is listed above!!!
Terrible ending
Guys gets girl, girl gets guy..Happily ever after but the author doesn't continue on.. So we don't even know the sex of the baby.. Very disappointed in the ending!!!!!
could have been better
Kit just had the kind of luck to get pregnant by Alex the one and only time she was with him. Afterwards he harshly broke things off. Then he took off for four months on a trip.
When she told him she was pregnant with his child, he said he couldn't be a father. He had lost a child and every child reminded him of his pain. The author was trying to let the reader know the kind of pain Alex was going though. She repeated things often so some of the emotions were lost. Instead at times I was left to feel annoyed. Stating things one's of twice would have been enough to make a profound impact, anymore than that takes away from the message. The book did have some great messages to learn from. The ending was perfect.
