During the visit, between October 26 and 28 to India, Sri Lanka and Maldive, US secretary of State Mike Pompeo has emphasised sustained support on Covid 19 assistance, defence cooperation and cyber security. Nevertheless, expansion of Indo Pacific was emphasised in all three countries.

Ahead of the US presidential elections, Indo-US 2+2 dialogue was held on October 27, in New Delhi. It has been observed that this meet is a signal towards China. The defence cooperation, vision of Indo pacific, ASEAN centrality has been underlined in this meet. India and the US are moving towards comprehensive, multitrack partnership arrangement.
Beyond 2013, there have been certain concerns, which have emerged between India and China. India’s cooperation with the US and Quad has been a concern for China. At the same time, China expansion projects such as BRI and control over ports in South Asia has been a concern for India.
History tells us the rise of two parallel powers has led to competition and conflict. Rise of India-China in South Asia is no different. India-China always had boundary issues since the 1950s but time and again there have been some or the other steps taken to either resolve these issues or to find common interest of the two countries.
Foreign policy of the United States can go through certain changes, depending upon who wins the presidential elections 2020. These changes can impact India-US relations in the coming future. Though it is being said that both the parties, Republican and Decmocratic are looking towards India as a strategic partner.

It is being anticipated that Indian American community in the United States has a major role to play in the US presidential elections. Though, the policies of presidential candidates are going to impact it’s relations with India and other countries as well. The total Indian American voting population is just 1% of total US voting pollution.
The eighth meeting between senior commanders of India and China is going to be held in the last week of october. China has proposed the Indian side to first move back. There are important decisions, which has to be taken as the winter is coming in. Due to the weather conditions it will be difficult for Indian side to communicate.

Taliban in Afghanistan has been trying to create Islamic Emirate by co-opting with Afghan political parties. There are negotiations going on between Afghan government and Taliban in a very hesitant manner. Taliban’s leader Mullah Haibatullah, a religious fundamentalist.
On october 12th another meeting took place between India and China. The joint statement has been issued on the points both the countries have agreed. Also on 12th of october Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 48 bridges in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. The inauguration of bridges might not be a good strategy for the future.

Leasing is a contract between two parties. In Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020 leasing has been divided into two categories Indian leasing and Global leasing. The leasing contract, when urgent, reduces the time of transaction. This process is going to be beneficial for Indian Armed forces and Indian and Foreign companies.
