Since lockdowns hit in 2020, and by lockdowns we mean covid, auditions for actors have predominantly been known as ‘the self tape’. This style of first round auditioning has its blessings and its curses. No longer, for instance, do actors have to disappoint employees last minute to rush off to an in person audition with a casting director. But then, 48 hours to find a coach or reader (hi family member! Hi partner!) and a professional set up?! This poses problems. You also don't get any immediate feedback let alone meet the director or casting director. In this episode, Kate and Kaiya talk about all things self tapes including sharing some tips and tricks they have developed over their many years of coaching and acting.
