1965 is often viewed as a turning point in ufology. Up until that time, the press had largely dismissed UFO reports at the behest of Project Blue Book and their downplay of UFO reports. 1957 was the last time that the press had really looked upon the subject in a favorable light, but things would change 8 years later.

In August of 1965, an explosion of UFO activity would be reported in Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Washington. The phenomenon would not be ignored.

There were hoaxes, harmful UFOs, humanoids, a trio of which resembled beer cans, there were trips around the galaxy aboard UFOs, and so much more.

Kay Gray, from the Haunted Mitten, joins me to laugh through the terror and fascination that was 1965.
