God is not nice. God is "merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin but who will by no means clear the guilty" (Exodus 34:6-7). Nice is humanity’s way of creating God in their desired image. God is compassionate and has brought salvation, redemption, and reconciliation for those who desire it. Yet for those who do not, he has brought his justice.
