This is an awesome Perth business and ecommerce success story of a personal passion, and some family challenges that led to an idea, that led to a product, that led to a major change in business focus and career direction, and resulted in the growth of a legitimate global business built on a progressive new concept.
David Steadman is a driven ideas man, with a love of road bikes, mountain biking, surfing and problem solving. This interview will inspire anyone in business, and every person with entrepreneurial spirit who is out there thinking up ideas and building a business.
The concept for the first Steadyrack bike storage solution was born from David’s frustration with not being able to park his car in his garage because of the family bikes left on the floor.
Like many people, they couldn't physically tackle the chore of lifting their bikes onto their wall-mounted hooks.
Within two weeks of sharing his frustration at a family BBQ, a crude handmade rack was made. This prototype was the beginning of David’s five year journey of multiple home-made iterations, that resulted in the now-patented Steadyrack.
In 2009, Steadyrack officially produced and sold its first racks and now 100’s of thousands of Steadyracks are installed in homes and commercial facilities all over the world. It’s not uncommon to see rows and rows of Steadyracks in the carparks of the high rise buildings of some of the biggest corporate names.
Big thanks from us to David Steadman, CEO and Founder of Steadyrack for sharing his business and ecomm stories with us.

This Shopify interview will be awesome for just about any merchant that is looking to offer their customers simpler and easier transaction options, and it will be super interesting for businesses selling to international markets.
The more flexibility and options you can give customers when it comes to the transaction and their payment options, the higher your chances are of converting. The last thing any merchant wants to do is lose customers simply because they can’t offer a payment option that fits their expectations and needs.
From an increased focus on personalised shopping and curated lists, to ‘pay-later’ options and installments, Klarna is leading the sector in terms of a creative and customer-centric approach to online transactions.
Robert is a passionate and switched-on expert in his field and gives a great podcast. Listen in to a wealth of knowledge on the options and possibilities, and plenty of guidance too, on ecommerce transactions now, and where they are headed.
Big thanks from us to Robert Gibson, Commercial Partnerships Manager at Klarna for sharing his time and insights with us.

Ding-ding! And the gloves are off for Ep.71 as we talk to another Perth ecomm entrepreneur who is doing great things. Ash Belcastro is Founding Director of MMA fight gear and apparel brand Engage. This is a great interview with a high energy and motivated ecommerce businessman who operates in the exciting world of hand-to-hand combat and the athletes who take to the ring.

We love Ash’s story, and we think you will too because this Shopify interview is another celebration of WA business success. Like so many ‘ecommers’, Ash started Engage because fight training was his passion and it took him into South East Asia, where he formed friendships with some of the most exciting and emerging combat athletes. His love of the fight inspired Ash to launch Engage, and his fight gear and apparel brand fits alongside his management of marquee athletes like Israel Adesanya.
Listen in and you’ll hear all about Ash’s journey, and his ambitions for Engage as a brand. This is exciting and motivating stuff, so check it out fight fans.
Engage is all about progressive and premium fight gear, like gloves and shorts, plus limited edition apparel for the lovers of the fight. Engage are building a brand and reputation based on their relationships with legitimate talent, and groundbreaking collabs. Ever heard of Call Of Duty?
Like they say, Engage is for the fighters. For the determined, for the obsessive. Engage is for the people who don’t stop, who don’t give up, and who don’t compromise.
Sound familiar? Sounds like what it takes to launch and succeed in ecommerce to us.
Ash’s story and his journey with Engage is all about turning a personal passion and close relationships into awesome and authentic products for athletes and fans. Big thanks from us to Ash Belcastro, Founding Director of Engage, for sharing his time and tales on The Shopify Dropify.

Hello and welcome to Ep.68 where we talk to Phillip Rivers, Founder of Go Tetra, ecommerce email marketing specialists. Based in Brooklyn, NYC, USA, the Go Tetra approach is based on the idea that the unsung hero of ecomm is… email! And this is often the most neglected marketing channel too. Based on that concept, Phillip and his team work with ecommerce business owners to unlock sales growth potential in their email marketing.

This Shopify interview will be valuable to every ecommerce merchant and business owner who is not doing any real, tactical email marketing. And for those who suspect that there is more that they can do to grow sales. There’s no doubt that marketing directly to the people who are already your best customers and biggest fans, is an ecommerce marketing strategy that produces a high return.
Phillip founded Go Tetra in 2016 after building his ecommerce skills in roles from Director of Sales with RewardOps, a customer loyalty and rewards platform, to Business Development and Branding with 72Lux, an enterprise level ecomm SaaS platform.
Phillip’s experience has shown him that online store owners neglect email because they don’t understand it, they think they don’t have time for it, and are unaware of how profitable it can be (when done right).
Phillip works with ecommerce business owners to change those perceptions based on building tactical email strategies that produce clear ROI in the most efficient ways possible.
That is a strategy for growth that’s hard to argue with, so jump in and get the full story from Phillip as he talks with Ben.
Our thanks to Phillip Rivers, Founder of Go Tetra for sharing his time and stories on The Shopify Dropify.
