Nehemiah 12 should remind believers we need an eternal perspective, one that goes in both directions.

It should remind us that all that we see God doing in our time is part of the grand work of his redemption to save a people to himself from every nation.

What God is doing now has always been in his heart, and it will declare his glory throughout all eternity.

It should give rise both to rejoicing over what God has done and rejoicing for what he is doing and is going to do in the future.
